Many people were brought up to believe that owning a home is part of the American Dream. However, owning a home is a huge responsibility, and it’s one that not everyone wants to take on. There are some advantages to renting apartments. If your apartment rental lease is about to expire, and you are deciding between renting and buying, consider the following advantages of renting:
1.) If something breaks, you aren’t financially responsible to fix it. If your roof starts to leak, the furnace quits or the plumbing starts to make an eerie sound, call your management company and they will fix it. You aren’t stuck with the bill.
2.) More bang for your buck. You might not be able to buy the top-floor apartment with the view which overlooks the city, but you can probably afford the lease on a luxury apartment. If you don’t own furniture, you can rent furnished apartments.
3.) When you get tired of the place, you can leave. When you rent, once your lease is up, you can either stay put, or move to a new location. You aren’t forced to sell one place before you can buy another.
4.) You can choose the apartment size that suits your needs at the time. If you’re just starting out, a studio apartment might be all you need. When you get married and have kids, you can upgrade to 3-bedroom apartments. Then, when the kids leave home, you can downgrade to 2-bedroom apartments and still have a guest room.
Apartments can be ideal for anyone who is not yet ready for the responsibility of home ownership, so discuss your rental options by contacting different apartment complexes in your area.
